| NC decries BJP’s myopic political discourse, duplicity | |
Jammu, November 30 (Scoop News)-Senior National Conference leaders on Monday blamed BJP for indulging in double-speak and unleashing politics of hate and intolerance to create drift in a harmonious and inclusive state like Jammu and Kashmir.
“Duplicity and hypocrisy is core of BJP policy”, State Vice President and former minister Peer Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari said in a joint statement issued here while reacting to orchestrated BJP propaganda over the observations of National Conference Working President Dr Farooq Abdullah.
He reminded the BJP leadership of talks held between India and Pakistan during the tenure of Mr Atal Behari Vajpayee as Prime Minister and even subsequently and said that the two countries had discussed the issue related to Jammu and Kashmir in detail. While several options had reportedly been discussed there where even suggestions of out of box solutions to various problems between the two countries.
The National Conference leaders said that BJP has miserably failed in honouring the mandate and failure of the coalition government has further distanced it from the people. “The hue and cry being raised by the BJP is leaders is just an unsuccessful attempt to divert the peoples’ attention from the government’s abject failure in assuaging their aspirations, misgovernance and developmental inertia.
Signatories to the joint statement included State Vice President Th Kashmira Singh, State Secretary Th Rachpal Singh, Provincial Vice President Mr Anil Dhar and Provincial Secretary Sheikh Bashir Ahmed.
The National Conference leaders advised the BJP leadership to have some introspection, concentrate on government, carry forward the developmental initiatives taken by Omar Abdullah led government rather than generating controversies and create wedge between the people.
