| Executive councilor reviews arrangements for Losar festival | |
Leh,November 24 (Scoop News)-A meeting to discuss the arrangements for Losar celebration was convened today at council secretariat under the chairmanship Executive councilor Agriculture Tsering Wangdus.
The meeting was attended by EC, CA&PD, EC Public works, Councilor skurbuchan, various head of the departments, representatives of LBA, LBA (Woman wing), Additional SP, CMO.
EC, Agriculture instructed AD CA&PD to ensure adequate supply of kerosene and suger, availability of essential commodities in the market considering its increased demand during Losar, He requested EC CA&PD to personally keep a check on availability and price of all the commodities including mutton and chicken to resist shopkeepers from hoarding, high prices. He instructed cooperative department to provide subsidized commodities as per past practice.
EC Agriculture directed Municipal Committee to ensure cleanliness of Leh bazar, police department to maintain law and order especially on days of Losar and PDD to supply uninterrupted power supply during the Losar celebration which has formally started from today. He requested forest department, councilor Skurbuchan and LBA to coordinate in ensuring availability of Juniper in the market on controlled rate.
LBA vice president P.T Kunzang put forth some demands which include top up kerosene and sugar per family, lighting provision in the main market on the night of Namgang, illumination of Leh palace, petrol pump chorten and to declare half day holiday for Buddhist employees on Nyamchod and leveling of Leh market near Masjid for the cultural programme.
AD CA&PD informed that the department do not get special festival quota of Kerosene so it would not be possible for top up of kerosene.
EC Agriculture urged all the concerned HODs to consider their demand and give their best to make losar celebration a grand success.... |
