NFCH interacts with beneficiaries of communal harmony
Monitoring and review of implementation of Project “ASSIST” held
Anantnag, October 8,(Scoop News)- An interaction programme between the communal harmony beneficiaries of District Anantnag and Kulgam with Joint Secretary cum finance officer, S.C. Chosahal and Programmer, National Foundation for communal harmony, New Delhi, Ravi Shanker Tripathi, (an autonomous organization) with the Ministry of Home Affairs Govt. of Indi was today held at Anantnag.
The ADC Anantnag Sheikh Ghulam Hassan, District Social Welfare officer Anantnag and other officer of the social welfare department participated in the programme. The ADC said on the occasion that the beneficiaries covered under the scheme have been hit by violence due to militancy related victims. He suggested that the financial assistance being provided to the students be enhanced and stressed for age relaxation in the scheme.
The District Social Welfare officer Anantnag in his welcome address said that the team visited Anantnag and interacted with the students and other beneficiaries and got awared about the problems being faced by the students. He also said that 312 orphan students from class 2nd to post-Graduation were provided Rs. 38.52 lakh under NFCH scheme. A monthly assistance of Rs.1000 from class 2nd to 12th, Rs.1250 upto Graduation / Post-Graduation and Rs. 1500 for professional courses MED-Eng and Management is being provided by the organization.
Chosahal highlighted the aim and objectives of the organization and said that NFCH was setup an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Home Affairs with the objective of promoting communal harmony and National integration and providing assistance for effective rehabilitation of child victims of communal, caste and terrorist violence with special reference to their care, education and training to enable them to merge in the mainstream of the nation and become responsible and respectable citizen.
Presently the organization is providing financial assistance to 14000 students from all over the country including 6000 beneficiaries from Jammu and Kashmir State.
