Er Rashid is a threat to social fabric: BJP

Srinagar, October 8,(Scoop News)- Demanding immediate action against independent MLA from Langate, Engineer Rashid, the BJP said that he has become a threat to the social fabric and communal harmony for his act of hurting sentiments of a community.
BJP State Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, while expressing party’s grave concern over organizing Beef Party by Engineer Rashid in the premises of MLA Hostel at Srinagar on Wednesday, said that such an act by an elected representative is highly condemnable as it is a direct attack on the religious sentiments of a particular community.
“The politics based on communal lines may prove dangerous and any person indulging in such practice should be booked and put behind the bars”, said Balbir, adding that the police should take cognizance of the FIR registered against Engineer Rashid and action as per law be taken as the free movement of such elements can prove dangerous and disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the society besides creating hatred among the communities.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that no religion permits any person to hurt the sentiments of other religion or faith and hence the people should get united to defeat the nefarious designs of persons like Engineer Rashid, who has past record of inviting anger and resentment for his provoking actions.
The BJP Spokesperson also criticized the Jammu-based MLAs of National Conference, its Provincial President in particular, for adopting a silence on the issue and toeing the line of Kashmiri separatist leadership, which moved Private Member resolutions in current Autumn Session of Assembly seeking abolition of a particular Section of RPC on cow slaughtering. He said that their complete silence on the issue has now totally exposed them for their so-called love and concern for the people of Jammu and their own community.
Meanwhile, Balbir also hailed the decision of the Speaker to suspend the officials of MLA Hostel and expressed hope that the security agencies will not allow this place to become a ground for communal politics.
