Div Com reviews progress of Z-Morh tunnel, Central University projects
Ganderbal, September 3 (Scoop News)-Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Mr Asgar Hassan Samoon today chaired a meeting of officers at Mini-Secretariat Ganderbal to review the progress of Z- Morh tunnel on national highway-1D.
Divisional Commissioner held separate and detailed discussions with the concerned departments on the issues related to Z- morh tunnel. A threadbare discussion was held on the issues like removal of trees and structures, Muck disposal, Forest land issues, extraction of boulders and sand for construction of tunnel, permissions from Pollution Control Board and establishment of Police Post at Gagangir.
It was given out in the meeting that removal of trees and structures at the proposed camp installation site at Gagangeer is under process. The meeting was told that widening and metalling of Kangan road is also in progress.
Mr Samoon directed ACR to ensure that the trees at the West portal approach road are cut within a month. He also stressed the officers to be proactive and ensure that the projects are completed within the stipulated time.
Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, ACR Ganderbal, SDM Kangan, representatives from Army, CRPF, Construction Agency and Beacon, District officers and Tehsildars of the district were present in the meeting.
Earlier, Divisional Commissioner held a meeting with the Central University authorities at Mini-Secretariat Ganderbal to review the progress on construction of Central University building. DDC Ganderbal and VC Central University were present on the occasion.
The meeting was informed that the design of Pre Fabricated Structures was ready and shall be put in place in coming days.
Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned authorities to identify the building for rented accommodation in a week's time and directed the Central University authorities to start work on fencing of the university and ensure that it is completed within 6 months.
