DDC reviews PHE, I&FC Sectors at Anantnag
Anantnag, September 3 (Scoop News)-District Development Commissioner Anantnag,Muneer-ul-Islam today took a detailed review of the physical and financial components of Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Flood Control departments in a meeting.
Joint Director Planning, Superintending Engineer PHE, Superintending Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control, Sectoral officers and other concerned Engineers were present in the meeting.
It was given out in the meeting that in PHE sector, out of 290 flood damaged water supply schemes and 762 damaged works, Rs. 430 lakh released under SDRF have been expended in full on temporary and permanent restoration of damaged water supply schemes and works in the district. Under District sector five water supply schemes were completed physically at Cheertanzi, Dehrun Mantpora, Achabal, Akhoonpora and Vail. As many as 11 habitations have been covered and 18894 souls provided with safe drinking water.
District Development Commissioner was apprised that the work is under progress on 24 water supply schemes at an estimated cost of Rs. 26.61 crore. It was also revealed in the meeting that water supply scheme “Bumzoo” is nearing completion and will be thrown open for public use in coming days.
Taking note of the pace of work on the protection bunds on river banks all across the district, District Development Commissioner directed irrigation and FC engineers to utilize their available resources of men and machinery to increase the pace of work on such works.
District Development Commissioner directed the concerned to pace up the work on development of Katsoo Park, Foot Bridge at Padshahi Bagh and Darashiko garden. He also directed for early execution of District Development Board decisions and CM commitments including Dudo Canal, Nowshera hut.
District Development Commissioner urged upon all engineers and agencies to work with close co- ordination. He further revealed that there shall be no compromise with regard to the quality of materials being used in the construction works.
