| CCT reviews performance of dept in Jammu div | | Asks for extra efforts to achieve targets | Jammu, September 2 (Scoop News)-Commissioner Commercial Taxes Baseer Ahmed Khan today asked the senior functionaries of the department to put in extra efforts to meet the revenue targets for the current year.
Baseer Khan was reviewing the functioning of the Department in Jammu Division here at meeting of senior officers.
Addl. Commissioner Commercial Taxes (Adm) Jammu, Deputy Commissioner Commercial Taxes and Commercial Taxes officers attended the meeting.
The Addl. Commissioner Commercial Taxes gave a Power Point presentation highlighting performance indicators and achievements of the department during the current financial year.
Commissioner Commercial Taxes was also apprised about infrastructure and manpower issues faced by the department.
Interacting with the Commercial Taxes Officers, the Commissioner Commercial Taxes exhorted upon them to improve their performances as the targets for revenue realization have been increased considerably for the current financial year.
He particularly emphasized on adopting focused and proactive approach and asked the officers to intensify inspections, stock checking, physical verification, nocturnal checking to achieve desired results. He further reiterated on maintenance of daily diary by Commercial Taxes Officers detailing the work done on daily basis. He further laid stress on reconciliation of records with Dy Commissioners Commercial Taxes, Recovery, Audit, and Appeals. He underscored the need to detect bogus dealers and take strict action against them. He expressed concern over the issue of non-existing/non-traceable dealers and advised all officers to put extra efforts in tracing them out.
