JK Governor reviews Amarnathji Yatra progress & preparations for the upcoming month of Shravan
4695 pay obeisance at Holy Cave

Srinagar,July 30 (Scoop News)-JK Governor N. N. Vohra, who is Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, chaired a meeting today at the Raj Bhavan to review the progress of the Yatra during the first 29 days of the pilgrimage and additional arrangements, if any, which may be required for ensuring a continuing smooth pilgrimage during Shravan which commences on 1st August. P.K. Tripathi, Chief Executive Officer, and Jitendra K. Singh, Additional CEO SASB informed the Governor that all the arrangements are in place to facilitate the Yatris till it concludes on 29th August.
The Governor stressed on the CEO the need for a daily review of cleanliness and sanitation, adequacy of essential supplies, health services etc. and reiterated the crucial importance of providing timely medical assistance to any pilgrim or service provider who falls ill or meets with an accident in the Yatra area.
The Governor also discussed the agenda of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board meeting which is scheduled to take place on 31st July, 2015. The meeting is likely to be attended by the Board Members Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Dr. Kapila Vatsyayan, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Pt. Bhajan Sopori, Dr. (Prof.) Ved Kumari Ghai, Ms. Sunita Narain, Vijay Dhar, D. C. Raina and Dr. Chander Mouli Raina. The Board will, ineralia, discuss the arrangements made for bringing about improvements in the logistical and other arrangements for the pilgrimage.
Meanwhile, a Spokesperson of the SASB said that the pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji is progressing smoothly on both the routes, adding that well over three lakh pilgrims had performed darshan at the Holy Cave Shrine so far since the commencement of this year’s pilgrimage on 2ndJuly from Baltal and Pahalgam routes. The Spokesperson added that 3,11,990 pilgrims paid obeisance at the Holy Cave today.

On the 29th day of the ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra 4695 Yatris paid obeisance at the Holy Cave. Till date 3,11,990 Yatris have paid obeisance at the Holy Cave.
