Health Minister launches website of Health Deptt Leh
Leh, June 29 (Scoop News)-Minister for Health & Medical Education and ARI & Trainings, Ch. Lal Singh today launched a website of Health Department Leh www.lehhealth.org and released a training module video on ‘Basic Life Support’ prepared by Health Department in collaboration with Police Department Leh.
Earlier, Ch. Lal Singh took a review meeting with the Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Leh Rigzin Spalbar, Executive Councilors and Councilors of various villages of Leh district at the DC Office Conference Hall Leh.
The Minister appreciated health authorities of Leh for achieving cent percent immunization coverage. He also expressed satisfaction over the functioning of the district Hospital as well as health centres of the district. He stressed on maintaining cleanliness at hospitals and health centres and stressed on effective working of the medical staff with full dedication for the satisfaction of the patients.
Giving patient hearing to the grievances made by the gathering, Singh assured upgradation of laboratory, installation of MRI machine and promised early redress of other issues and problems.
CEC LAHDC while welcoming the minister congratulated him for assuming the office of Health Ministry. Keeping in view the backwardness of far flung villages, financial constraints, and communication hassles in Ladakh, Spalbar requested for consideration of opening up of a medical institution in Ladakh in line with Jammu and Srinagar and until the formation of a medical institute he requested to affiliate the District Hospital with Medical Institute of Jammu or Srinagar. He further requested to increase the existing bed strength from 150 to 250 for proper and effective execution of services for the patients in need.
Spalbar appreciated the hard work and dedication of the doctors and paramedical staff of the district hospital Leh. He requested for an ambulance for each block, an MRI machine, pressure chamber, up-gradation of laboratory services to bacteriology and histopathology, filling up of the vacant posts of doctors of various categories, sanction for construction of a district training centre under Urban Health Mission or NRHM scheme, up-gradation and sanctioning of posts at PHC Khaltsi and Nyoma, airfare for HIV patients from Leh to Srinagar on humanitarian grounds as special case, ratification of Sowa Rigpa (Amchi System) Act at State level already passed by Indian System of Medicines in 2010.
Similarly, Executive Councilors Health Dr Sonam Wangchuk, Agriculture, Sonam Dorjey and Tourism Muhammad Shafi and Councilors Martselang, Sakti, Kyungyam, Basgo, Khaltsi, Turtuk, Phyang, and Kyagar also presented the minister with their health related problems and grievances.
