Shantmanu reviews facilities for Health Department Leh


Leh, May 19 (Scoop News)-The important issues of recruitment, salary and infrastructure for the Health Department Leh remained the highlights of their review meeting conducted to take stock of the ongoing National Health programmes in Leh district today at Conference Hall Leh.
The meeting was chaired by Commissioner Secretary Health & Medical Education J&K Government Shantmanu. Deputy Commissioner Leh Saugat Biswas who is also the Chairman of the Governing Body Rogi Kalyan Samiti SNM Hospital Leh was also present in the meeting.
Chief Medical Officer Leh Dr. Phuntsog Wangchuk briefly talking about the set up of the health department presented the agendas of the meeting vis-a-vis urgent requirement for filling up of vacant posts of 14 specialist doctors, 38 MBBS doctors, 11 Dental Surgeons; release of pending salary of bureau & SCs staff under Family Welfare since November 2014; completion of DPC cases that are lying pending; creation of an Urban Health Centre for Leh town; contractual drivers for the ambulances provided under MP LAD and designation of SNM Hospital Leh as associated hospital to facilitate study of High Altitude Medicines and for referral to Tertiary care centre were discussed.
Chief Amchi SNM Hospital Leh and Drugs & Food Control Department Leh also presented their demands in front of the Commissioner Secretary to which he directed them to prepare a proposal for further required steps that are needed to be taken.
And under NRHM, construction of district training centre; head wise requirement of funds, filling up of vacant posts of MBBS doctors; honorarium pending for IDSP staff since December 2014; funds for mobility support & office expenses since last year; honorarium for Geriatric Staff pending since 8 months & NCD staff since 3 months among others were also discussed.
Commissioner Secretary Shantmanu patiently listening to all the issues gave directions to prepare proposals for certain issues for further actions needed to be taken.
Medical Superintendent Dr. Yangchan Dolma, DyCMO Dr. Norphel, and other doctors and concerned district officers and officials were also present in the meeting.
