800 volunteers took part in the cleanliness drive

Srinagar, May 18 (Scoop News)-A massive cleanliness drive spearheaded by Kargil police in which 800 volunteers participated was launched in Drass. The cleanliness drive is a part of operation Chuka Lhuakhmo that is going on in District Kargil.
Under the operation Chuka Lhuakhmo, Kargil police launched 3rd cleanliness drive in Drass in collaboration with District Administration Kargil. Public places like parks, roads, schools and hospitals were cleaned off garbage by 800 volunteers including policemen, students, youth and fellow citizens of the town. About 14 tippers loads of garbage was ferried to the dumping sites.
Kargil police with assistance of civil administration has launched this sanitation drive under Civic Action programme. During the drive in Drass, 06 permanent sign boards were installed at various places in Drass town and 20 painted dust bins were donated for use in public places.
On this occasion a rally was also taken out by students for sensitizing the people about the need of clean and pollution free environment.
