Rich tributes were paid to Late Didi Nirmala Deshpande

Jammu, May 01 (Scoop News)-Rich tributes were paid to Late Didi Nirmala Deshpande on her 7th death anniversary at a function organized at KIIT Group of Colleges, Gurgaon in collaboration with Gandhi Global Family.
Padmashri S P Varma was the chief guest on the occasion, where as Shri B R Kamrah Mentor of KIIT presided over the function.
The Chief Guest along with the college students & other guests offered floral tributes to Didi Nirmala Deshpande.

While speaking on the occasion, Varma said that Didi Nirmalaji strived hard to create a new value system for establishing a good society. She had been conferred with the India's second highest civilian honour Padma Vibhushan award. She worked for brotherhood & peace in South Asian countries & dedicated her life to promote Gandhian philosophy throughout the world. She is like God mother to me who guided me to join Gandhian movement, he added.
Kamrah, while remembering Didi Nirmala Deshpande, said that she was a woman of action. Whether it was going beyond Acharya Vinoba Bhave's Bhoodan Yatra and offering Satyagraha for securing the rights of landless labourers who were allotted land or her social initiative of developing Gandhi Global Family Centre at Gandhi Ashram Kingsway Camp in Delhi where people, scholars of all walks of life could come stay, contribute and rejuvenate themselves or organising peace march in Orissa after the terrible murder of Graham Steins. It all symbolized her commitment to human life and secular values,"

Others too recollect their life's experience shared with such a noble soul. Others who also spoke on the occasion were Harsh Kamrah, Ashok Kapoor, Dr Neelima, Vijay Sharma, Prof Agarwal. There was the huge athering of the college present on the occasion to pay floral tributes to our Mentor Didi Nirmala Deshpande.
