| Executive Councilor held review meeting on re-opening of Srinagar-Leh road | |
Leh, April 25 (Scoop News)-Keeping in mind the re-opening of Srinagar-Leh National Highways within coming few days, the Executive Councilor, CAPD, Mohd Shafi Lassu today held a meeting with the functionaries of CAPD, Legal Metrology and Municipality Leh and issued instructions to ensure arrival of best quality products mainly the vegetable items right from the beginning and strict checking on prices. Shafi said that LAHDC would not compromise on the public health and as such he ordered the concerned deptts to convene a meeting with the vegetable venders well in advance and convey them with a clear cut instruction that the vegetable venders will only be allowed to sell best quality vegetable items in Leh district.
To maintain standard of food and other important items like tea, Shafi instructed the functionaries to do frequent inspections of all the restaurants in Leh and surrounding areas and impose fine against those who found to be violating the standing norms. For the convenience of the consumers, provision of getting required volume of dressed chicken, half cup of tea and half plate of every food items from all restaurants should be made regulatory in Leh’s market.
In view of pouring huge complaints against the Hardware shops and Motor Spare Parts shop for charging extra rates on number of items, Shafi Lassu said that LAHDC is going to devise a concrete mechanism to fix the violators with punitive measure very soon.
The meeting was attended by the officers of CAPD, Legal Matrology and Municipality Leh.
