| Dr. Jatinder Singh convenes public meeting at Kathua | |  Kathua, April 25 (Scoop News)-In order to create awareness about the various centrally sponsored public welfare schemes and to listen to the grievances of the general public for their immediate redressal Union Minister of State, PMO Dr. Jatinder Singh convened a public meeting at Kathua today.
MLA Kathua Rajiv Jasrotia, MLA Hiranagar Kuldeep Kumar, EX MLA Hiranagar Durga Dass, public representatives and large number of people attended the meeting.
The people of various tehsils of Kathua district projected their demands before Dr. Jatinder Singh which were mostly related to road connectivity, irregular supply of ration, water scarcity in kandi area. Several deputations met the minister and projected their problems/ grievances before the minister. The minister listened the demands /grievances of the public and assured of their redressal on priority basis.
While addressing the gathering Union Minister of State, PMO Jatinder Singh said the government at the centre headed by Prime Minister Narinder Modi is committed for the development and welfare of the general public. Several welfare schemes / programmes viz Pardhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Beti Bacho Beti Padhao scheme, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan have been launched by the central government.
He said that a number of development projects like Keerian Gandyal Bridge, Juthana Bridge , Biotechnology park at Ghatti, Chhapar Kandi project , Multipurpose Ujh Project have been initiated/sanctioned or in progress as the same were taken up with the central government.
He appealed the people to submit their demands/ grievances in the public relations office of MLA Kathua. The problems/ grievances submitted by the people will be redressed jointly by him and concerned MLAs of Kathua District.
The Minister said that 25-days capsule programme of vocational training will be started soon under which training will be provided to 500 youths under various trades besides there will also be provision for providing 30 bicycles for needy girls students.
Earlier MLA Kathua Rajiv Jasrotia while addressing the gathering said that after a thorough survey he has formulated projects for drinking water supply schemes for kandi areas of the District and same will be submitted to the central govt. He said that matter related to crop damages and compensation to the farmers was already taken up in the assembly.
MLA Hiraganar Kuldeep Raj also addressed the public gathering.
