Progress under BADP reviewed at Kupwara
Kupwara,February 26, (Scoop News)- The District Development Commissioner Kupwara today convened a meeting of district and sectoral officers of the district to review the performance of these sectors under implementation of Border Area Development Programme (BADP).
It was given out that Rs 137.66 lakhs are being utilized by the PDD on execution of 52 developmental works, out of these 20 works have been completed under BADP. While as, Rs 7.78 lakhs have been expended on the execution of Storage Tank at Sherkoot by PHE under BADP.
The Chief Medical Officer, Kupwara informed the meeting that four health centres under R&B and 10 PHCs under RDD are in progress at various stages of completion in the district. He informed the meeting that 30544 persons were treated in OPD while another 3000 patients were treated in ARI sector from 16th January, 2015.
Under education sector Rs 10.31 lakhs have been released for implementation of the scheme, Girls Middle School, Diver (Lolab) and Middle school Rawathpora (Villgam) school building have been completed under the programme and Rs 6 lakhs have been expended on these works during current fiscal, while work on various school buildings are in progress, as 60% works have been completed physically.
The Chief Agriculture Officer who was present in the meeting has given out that Rs 62.25 lakhs have been released under BADP in which Rs 30 lakh have been utilized till January 2015 and inspection hut at Drangla, Agriculture Farm and Soil Conservation buildings in Langat are near completion.
The District Development Commissioner exhorted upon the concerned officers to submit the detailed report of targets, achievements, funding components in collaboration with the CPO, Kupwara before they attend the review meetings. However he impressed upon the concerned engineers and line departments to complete all ongoing works within the stipulated time frame so that people are able to avail the facilities of the programme launched for the purpose.
