AJHLA hails tourism department for celebrating Shivratri festival

Jammu, January 31, (Scoop News)-All Jammu Hotels & Lodges Association (AJHLA) has welcomed the decision of the Tourism Department to celebrate Shri Shivratri festival from February 15 to 17, 2015 at Jamant Gufa, Peerkho, which is an outcome of the initiative taken by Rajesh Gupta MLA (elect), Jammu East.
Mr Inderjeet Khajuria president while deliberating on the Shivratri celebrates at Jamawant Gufa (Peerkho) narrated the Gufa to Ramayan period when Shjri Jamant performed Tapasya in the Gufa. It is also stated that Lord Bhagwan Shri Krishna fought with Shri Jamant on the issue of Mani (Jewel), which belongs to Dwarka kingdom and was in possession of Shri Jamant. It is also stated that the said scuffle, which lasted for 28 days between Lord Bhagwan Shri Krishna and Shri Jamant was in reference to a promise given by Lord Bhagwan Shri Rama to Shri Jamant, which Lord Bhagwan Shri Rama fulfilled in the Shri Jamant Gufa during in Lord Krishna Avtar in Traita yug and in turn Shri Jamant returned the Mani (Jewel) as dowry to Lord Bhagwan Shri Krishna by marrying her daughter to Him (Lord Shri Krishna).
Department of Tourism has decided to make the event as a Mega celebration with cultural programmes, bhajan sandhya, establishing different kind of stalls, Jhulla for children, besides riding on horses and camels for pleasure. Describing the idea behind the celebrations of a Mega event especially at Shri Jamant Gufa, Peerkho, ancient religious place like Baba Shri Amarnath, Budha Amarnath, Shivkhori (Reasi), Shri Kameshwar (Akhnoor), Sudh Mahadev and an ancient Shiv temple at Billawar, which are very old Shiv Sthans (Shiv places) and have their own religion importance. Department of Tourism is contemplating to make Jammu as an independent tourism destination. The department is giving wide publicity to the said event by displaying hoardings, flexes and brochures distributions at Lakhanpur, Railway Station Jammu, Katra and city proper. Mr Khajuria suggested publicity at national level through electronic channel and newspaper of national status.
Mr Khajuria exuded confident that one who pays obeisance at Shri Jamant Gufa with pure heart would get his desire fulfilled by Lord Shri Shiva and urged everyone to pay their obeisance at least once in life. He said that sitting Mahant who is looking after the entire Shri Jamant shrine is extending full co-operation in this mega event and invited everyone to visit the holy shrine and get the blessings of Shri Lord Shiva.
