CEC, LAHDC & team of officers visited Skyurbuchan, Lehdo, Achinathang
Hanu-Gongma , Hanu-Yokma and Hanu-Thang


Leh,January 30, (Scoop News)-The Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC Leh Rigzin Spalbar alongwith Executive Councillor Sonam Dorjey and Executive Councillor Gyurmet Dorjey and other district / sub-divisional level officers and a teamof engineers visited Skyurbuchan, Lehdo, Achinathang, Hanu-Gongma, Hanu-Yokma and Hanu-Thang today.

At Skyurbuchan, the villagers through their councilor demanded few points like upgradation of BSNL tower, restoration of water supply scheme, widening of rald from high school to primary health centre, link road upto Skyurbuchan Gonpa, construction of road to Skyurbuchan Lungba, completion of Khachey-thang road, installation of DSPT at Khangral, connectivity with NHPC powerline, compensation of fruit trees damaged during recent rainfall and drinking water at Gongmathang.


Executive engineer PHE informed about the sanction of major water project but due to limited funds the project could not be completed. A temporary arrangement would be made for Gongmathang till the completion of the main project, he further said.

The Head of the various departments informed about their activities and on-going developmental work being carried out in the villages.

CEC patiently listened to their grievances and demands and assured that their demands will be redressed in phase manner and announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs. 50,000 to a family whose crops were totally damaged in an accidental fire.

He then directed the Special Sub-Division Khaltsi to prepare revised project for Skam-bardo road for necessary funding under PMGSY. He further gave directions to the HODs to resolve the minor issues at their level for the satisfaction of the general public.

At Lehdo, CEC inaugurated a new Primary School building constructed under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan at a total cost of Rs. 7 lakhs. While inspecting the irrigation kools, which was damaged during the construction of road from Lehdo to Lehdo-Dok, CEC directed the Irrigation and Flood Control to prepare a project in coordination with PWD.

Responding to the long pending demand of Lehdo bridge, CEC assured them for the start-up of the work within 3 months and that the work will be completed upto Juley 2015 and handed over to the councilor the signed agreement of Managing Director, JKPCC.
CEC also enquired the villagers about the availability of ration and medi-care at the respective centers.
CEC briefing about the blockage of Zanskar River and of close eye on the prevailing condition, he asked them to stay cautious especially those residing along the riverside.
