Training imparted to counting staff at Leh
Leh,December 20, (Scoop News)- District Election Officer, Leh Simrandeep Singh imparted training to Counting Supervisor and counting Assistants for counting of votes of 47- Nubra and 48 Leh Assembly constituencies on 23 December, 2014 at conference Hall Leh today.

As many as 40 Counting supervisors/ Counting Assistants attended on the second day of the training.

Through power point presentation Simrandeep highlighted the major legal provisions related to counting of votes. He directed the Counting supervisors to scrutiny and inspect the EVM before counting and ensure that the Control Unit (CU) is not tempered and all seals are intact, if not tempered, vote will be counted. He added that they also need to check the paper seal number, tally the results noted in part II of Form17 and to maintain the secrecy of voting.

The DEO informed that14 tables for Leh Assembly and 4 tables for Nubra Assembly has been set up and the tables will be allotted on the morning of the courting day. The counting shall begin at 8 AM and the Counting Supervisors/ Assistant must ensure to reach the counting centre, i.e., Degree College, Leh at 7.45 AM and no one leave the hall without Returning Officer’s permission.
