Crime Branch produced challan against drug peddlers
for causing the death of a young girl

Jammu, December 19, (Scoop News)- Crime Branch, Jammu produced challan in Case FIR No. 88/2014 under section 304, 120-B RPC, and Section 8(c), 27-A, 28, 29 NDPS Act P/S Channi Himmat Jammu against Vikram Singh alias Vickku son of Uttam Singh of House No. 406, Lane No. 15, Talab Tiloo, Jammu, Rubail Sharma alias Chimpu son of Mansa Ram of House No. 36 Lane No.06 Talab Tillo, Jammu and Yashjeet alias Kalia alias Chachuson of Chaman Lal of Village Searat, P.O Damtal Tehsil Indora, District Kangra Himachal Pradesh for causing the death of a young girl by administering drugs.

In a statement official said that on 10.10.2014, Police Station Channi Himmat, Jammu received an information through telephone from Police Control Room Jammu that one girl namely Divya Manhas daughter of Krishan Lal of Marble Market, Channi Himmat, Jammu was found in unconscious condition in front of the gate of her house. As the girl did not regain her consciousness she was taken to GMC, Hospital Jammu by her parents where the doctors declared her as brought dead. Since the matter was pertaining to the death of a young girl in suspicious circumstances, inquest proceedings u/s 174 Cr.P.C were initiated by Police Station Channi Himmat, which was later converted into an FIR. The investigation was transferred to Crime Branch, Jammu by the J&K Police Headquarters on 15.11.2014.

He said ,during the course of investigation it was found that two drug peddlers Vikram Singh alias Vicku and Robail Sharma alias Chimpu, used to provide Heroin to the deceased oftenly. On the fateful day both of them in order to cause her death injected a heavy dose of heroin to her in Talab Tillo area.

During investigation it surfaced that one Yashjit alias Kalia alias Chachu of Damtal was the supplier of Drugs to two notorious drug peddlers of Jammu Vikram Singh and Robail Sharma who used to allure and provide intoxicative drugs to the youth of Jammu city especially the school going children. As the accused persons were involved in the acts of sale, Purchase, transport and possession of Heroin, offences u/s 8(c), 21, 29 NDPS were also established against them,official said.

According to official the accused persons, in furtherance of a criminal conspiracy hatched between themselves, injected heavy dose of Heroin in the body of the deceased, as a consequence of which the deceased died due to Heroin poisoning which was confirmed by FSL Jammu. After establishing the offences u/s 304, 120-B RPC read with Section 8(c), 27-A, 28, 29 NDPS Act against the accused, a preliminary chargesheet was presented before the court of Learned Principal Sessions Judge, Jammu.

SSP Crime Branch, Jammu Mubassir Latifi said the investigation of the case is on in order to unearth the whole racket of inter-state drug mafia who are spoiling the young generation. He appealed to the general public especially parents and teachers to keep a close watch on their children as any abnormal or suspicious behaviour of their wards may be an indication of drug addiction.
