NC refutes BSP charges; term these as signs of desperation

December 18, (Scoop News)- Strongly refuting the allegations made by Bahujan Samaj Party General Secretary Mr Narendra Kashyap, National Conference on Thursday described these as signs of frustration and imminent defeat of its candidate in the Nagrota Assembly Constituency.
“It is not only the BSP that is finding Nagrota turf rough for its candidate but BJP, Congress and other contestants too were feeling the heat and making frivolous and baseless allegations in a fit of desperation”, National Conference Block Presidents of the Nagrota Constituency Pt Rameshwar Dutt Sharma and Pt Sham Lal Sharma said in a joint statement.
Referring to the allegations, the two Block Presidents said that BSP volunteers faced stiff resistance from the people of Lower Kanna Chadgal when they attempted to lure them by offering money and liquor. On being challenged and asked to move out of the village, the unscrupulous volunteers of BSP indulged in stone-pelting and sloganeering, they said adding that the people of the locality told them in unequivocal terms that they should not test their patience and self-respect by allurement.
“Angered over the brazen attempt of BSP workers for indulging in unethical practices, the people of the area came out of their homes and raised slogans in favour of National Conference and its candidate, Mr Devender Singh Rana”, the two block presidents said, adding that sensing the public mood they fled from the scene.
Pt Rameshwar Dutt and Pandit Sham Lal Sharma castigated BJP, BSP and other parties for stooping too low on the face of imminent landslide victory of Mr Rana because of his contribution towards the development of the constituency. “Seeing writing on the wall, the opponents were ganging up under the aegis of BJP candidate to unleash malicious propaganda against National Conference”, they said, adding they will not succeed in their ulterior motives given the popularity of Mr Devender Singh Rana across the constituency.
The two block presidents advised BSP and other adversaries to take their defeat in democratic spirit and desist from disturbing the peaceful atmosphere.
