Siachen Brigade organizes medical camp in Turtuk (Ladakh)
Leh/Srinagar, December 13, (Scoop News)- The rugged region of Ladakh is a sparsely populated region and has inaccessible pockets, which are remotely located. The local Army unit deployed on the Shyok Axis has made concerted efforts to reach out to the people of the area by organizing a free Medical and Veterinary Camp in the interior village of Farol (Turtuk) as part of ‘OPERATION SADHBHAVANA’, defence spokesman to Scoop News.
He said that the camp was organized today as a goodwill gesture in the service of local people and it aimed at providing succour to the needy people and providing them medical treatment.

The medical team consisted of three Army doctors and one civil lady doctor including one Veterinary officer. The medical team attended to the critically ill patients and administered free medication and performed minor surgeries. The camp treated more than 250 patients including children and old people. The needy people of bordering villages of Thang, Tyakshi, Pachathang, Youl were also benefitted by the medical camp.

The Siachen Brigade has been organizing such health camps once in a month in remote villages of Nubra Valley in conjuction with Civil Govt medical teams. The local populace has requested Army to organize more such camps frequently for the welfare of the people in these remote villages thereby addressing their health problems and ensuring their well being.
