LAHDC,Leh organizes 8 –days Kangla-Cha expedition

Leh, October 31, (Scoop News)- The Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spabra today in function organized by IMF at Moravian Mission School, Leh distributed Prize/Certificates to the students who successfully scaled Stok Kangri ( Kangla-Cha 20160 Ft).
Organized by IMF, the 8 –days Kangla-Cha expedition was participated by 22 students selected from different schools of Leh including 4 students from Bal –Ashram, Leh out of which 19 students successfully scaled Kangla-Cha summit. 7 year old Manskit Dolkar from Moravian Mission School, Leh who was the youngest participant in this camp also submitted 18500 Ft ( Base camp). During the camp, rock climbing workshop at Shey-sMnla, environment and wildlife classes were also conducted for the students.

Speaking on the occasion, CEC Rigzin Spalbar congratulated students who participated in this adventurous expedition and appreciated IMF, Leh headed by Everest Hero, Wangyal, Incharge IMF for organizing this camp successfully.

Encouraging students to take part in such adventurous sports, Spalbar said that there is a very good potential for adventurous sports like mountaineering in Ladakh adding that Ladakhis have natural advantage to excel in this sport. He said that mountaineering not only teaches team work and character building but also infuse courage among students to face difficult challenges in their life easily.

Hero Wangyal, Incharge IMF, Leh and Principal Moravian Mission School, Leh E.S. Gergan also shared their mountaineering experiences and congratulated students for their maiden success expedition.
