Div Com reviews arrangements for darbar move to winter capital
Inspects progress on renovation work at Civil Sect, Govt quarters

Jammu,October 30, (Scoop News)- The Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu today took stock of arrangements for the Darbar move to the winter capital.
He visited Civil Secretariat, besides government quarters for the Darbar Move employees and took stock of renovations and other works taken up ahead of Darbar move to the winter capital.
He was accompanied by XEN Estates Department H. S. Sudan, AEE Neeraj Gupta, SSP Traffic Mohan Lal and other senior officers of various departments.
The Divisional Commissioner visited Government Quarters at Janipur, Company Bagh, B.C. Road, Atta Amar Singh and other areas. The Div Com was told that the face lifting, including white wash, paint, laying of tiles and renovation of pathways, besides landscaping of open spaces was in full swing at Civil Secretariat and all the government quarters.
Divisional Commissioner enjoined upon the officers to complete the repair, renovation and other maintenance works being done in Jammu Secretariat before opening of the offices so that the departments could function in a hassle free manner. He also called for completion of repair and renovation works of residential quarters for move employees at various locations.
The XEN H. S. Sudan informed that the Estates department will complete all the repair and renovation work well before the opening of the darbar move. He said that adequate provisions for water, power, sanitation, etc was being made at all the residential quarters so that the move employees may not face any problem.
The Deputy Director Estates also apprised about the progress on various works being executed in the Civil Secretariat which include renovation of Chief Minister’s office.
Shantmanu directed the executing agencies to keep their activities at maximum to complete the works in a stipulated time frame.
The Divisional Commissioner asked the Estate department to further gear up men and machinery for timely completion of all repair and renovation works.
Earlier, the Div Com also received relief material provided by Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS) for flood affected people.
TNWS donated 15- cartons of woolen and cotton clothes for men, women and children for distribution among the flood affected people of upper reaches of Jammu region. The relief was handed over to the Divisional Commissioner by Vikram Gour, President TNWS in the presence of TNWS members including K. K. Mahajan, Rajinder Kakkar, A. K. Arora, SC Sharma, SN Koul, OP Sharma, Somesh Sharma, Sandeep Sharma, Subhash Dubey, RK Tikku and Surinder Kumar.
Later, the Div Com distributed relief cheques among the marginalized schedule caste families at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Hall, Old Janipur Jammu at a function organized by All J&K Scheduled Caste Welfare Association.
On the occasion, the association putforth their demands and problems before the Divisional Commissioner seeking an immediate redressal to the same.
