| BLO conference on electoral awareness, participation held at Reasi | |
Reasi, October 29, (Scoop News)- A day long interaction with Booth Level Officers (BLO) on electoral awareness and participation under SVEEP was held in Reasi.
District Election Officer Shabir Ahmad Bhatt called upon booth level officers to make a sincere and determined effort to achieve maximum voting percentage during the forthcoming assembly elections.
It is our moral duty to create awareness among voters and encourage them to exercise their franchise in the larger interest of healthy democracy," DEO said while addressing the BLOs. A strategic plan has been formulated to reach out to 238170 voters in three assembly constituencies of the district by utilizing services of block level officers, he added.
Returning Officer-58 Reasi Tilak Raj Sharma (ACR Reasi) instructed BLOs to organize camps in their respective polling stations for awareness of the voters. "Booth level officers can play a significant role in election management, since they are stakeholders who can bring about a major change and encourage people to cast their vote by their sincere field work," RO-58 said.
PO DRDA Dr Jagdish Mehra (Nodal officer SVEEP) on this occasion called upon the BLOs to make people aware about the importance of vote and to motivate all especially the youngsters and women to cast their vote.
The officers and resource persons presented on the occasion interacted with the BLOs and informed them about the model code of conduct and awareness among electors about electoral participation and also cleared their doubts.
CDPO, Pritam Lal Thappa, Tehsildar,Daljeet Singh and various sector officers were also present on the occasion.
