NC, Cong frustrated over PM’s goodwill gesture: Balbir
‘Better they reach people instead of targeting PM’

Srinagar, October 25, (Scoop News)- Having no issue to play politics in the state of J&K now, the ruling coalition parties—Congress and NC have started politicizing PM’s goodwill gesture, which is the reflection of frustration among these parties.
This was stated by BJP State Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan while reacting to the recent statements of Congress and NC targeting PM over his Kashmir visit on Diwali and announcement of package.
Balbir said, “the utterances made by the JKPCC Chief Prof. Saif-ud- din Soz terming the relief package a ‘crude joke’ is unfortunate and highly condemnable”. “Instead of appreciating the goodwill gesture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of spending Diwali with the flood victims and meeting the people from all sections of society to personally know their grievances, Prof. Soz is indulging in cheap politics”, he mentioned, questioning Congress state leadership as to why they did not deem it necessary to meet PM to present the larger interest of the people in general and flood affected families in particular.
Balbir further said, “Prime Minister, being Pradhan Sevak of the nation, was in Kashmir to meet the people who recently suffered due to devastating floods and his visit should not be correlated with election gimmick”. He added, “Unlike Congress and National Conference, BJP is not playing politics over the pain and sufferings of the people”.
“It is better for JKPCC President Prof Saif-ud-din Soz to concentrate on people of Jammu and Kashmir instead of playing politics over goodwill gesture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi”, he maintained, adding, “As far as Central Govt under PM Modi is concerned, it is taking all possible post floods measures to bring life back on rails in affected areas.
Making a scathing attack on National Conference senior leader Mustafa Kamal, who accused Modi of damaging federal character of India, BJP State spokesperson said, “Kamal is reacting to the people friendly approach of the PM wherein he assured of transferring assistance for rebuilding houses directly to the bank accounts of beneficiaries. Such an approach is the result of repeated complaints of misappropriation of flood relief funds and allegations of nexus between revenue officials, due to which genuinely affected families are not getting the relief while benefits are reaching the unaffected families”.
He added that State under NC-Cong coalition has achieved the number 2 rank as most corrupt state in the country and the decision of directly transferring the money would obviously check the corruption and at least the flood victims will not have to grease the palms of the revenue officials.
He advised both the political parties to get out of frustration and contribute towards ensuring the early rehabilitation of flood affected families instead of politicizing the sincere efforts of Narendra Modi led NDA Govt.
