Brave heart NCC cadets save a middle aged women who jumped into River Yamuna | | New Delhi, October 24, (Scoop News Bureau)_ Brave heart cadets of National Cadets Corps of 2 Delhi Naval Unit of Delhi Directorate saved a middle aged woman who had jumped into the Yamuna River on Friday at about 1130 hrs, a defence spokesman said.
He said the NCC cadets were on a routine training mission for Yachting and Sailing along with three boats including one rescue boat. The unit’s ‘Rescue and Safety boat’ under the command of Petty Officer AK Sharma noticed that a middle aged lady had jumped into the Yamuna river from the DND flyover as they were training in the vicinity of the place of incident.
"On seeing the lady drowning, the rescue boat immediately rushed to the site and with great tact and presence of mind managed to rescue the lady and shifted her in an unconscious state inside the rescue boat with the help of three cadets Vikash, Ashish and Rahul", the spokesman said.
"The incident was immediately reported by the unit control room".
Commanding Officer of the unit Capt (IN) RS Dahiya along with one more staff and boat operator immediately rushed to the scene of incident in the second rescue boat.
The lady was transferred to the bank and was administered artificial respiration after which the lady regained her consciousness.
The police was informed about the incident. The lady regained her consciousness and has been handed over to the police team of Delhi Police, the spokesman said.
