Better infra, prompt public service, admn at door step hallmarks of govt:Tara Chand
Inaugurates CHC, Com Hall, SDM off, Tehsil, CD Blocks, Niabats
Jammu, October 24, (Scoop News)- To provide better health care to rural and border belt of Khour, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today inaugurated community health centre, Khour and dedicated OPD services to the people of the area.
The 50 bedded community health centre (CHC) has been constructed at a cost of over 1256 lacs and is equipped with 15 KV solar power back up.
While addressing the gathering, Tara Chand said the government has initiated mega projects for upgrading infrastructure in the state, new administrative units have been created and time bound public service has been ensured by Public Service Guarantee Act.
“Improved infrastructure in every nook and corner, effective and prompt public service delivery and taking administration to door step of people are hallmarks of the present government and we have ensured the same by lauching ambitious projects, creating new administrative units and enacting PSGA,” he added.
SDM, Khour Rakesh Kumar, Tehsildars, BDOs, BMO besides other senior officers and engineers of RDD, PHE, Flood Control, PDD and UEED were present during the tour.
The Deputy Chief Minister laid foundation of Degree College Khour. The college is presently running its classes in higher secondary school. The college building would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rupees 970 lacs and would be having all modern facilities.
He also inaugurated Sub-Division Magistrate office, Khour and congratulated people of the area as creation of Sub-Division was a demand which was being highlighted since long but got fulfilled during the present government only.
At Chak Malal, Tara Chand dedicated a community hall and PWD guest house to the public. The community hall has been constructed at a cost of Rupees 40 Lacs and the guest house at a cost of 18 lacs.
4 Tehsils, 4 CD blocks and 6 Niabats were also inaugurated. Tehsil offices at Khour, Pargwal, Kharah and Balli and block offices at Pargwal, Samwan, Khara and Balli have started operating.
During the tour, upgraded schools were also inaugurated. The schools operating as Middle schools have been upgraded to high school and high schools have been upgraded to higher secondary level.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said upgraded education institutions would serve the education needs of the rural and border belts and the people would be saved from sending children to far-off schools for education.
He said teachers of these schools are duty bound to ensure that students get best possible education and the results are at par with private academies.
Listing various social sector schemes launched by the government, Tara Chand said with the state government initiated schemes like SKEWPY which have received good response from younger generation who want to start their own ventures. He said need of the hour is to promote entrepreneurship among youth so that they not only start earning but also give employment opportunities to others.
“The government is committed to work for ameliorating the lot of the marginalized and all our efforts are afoot to take the development revolution to all nooks and corners of the state,” he added.
