Necessary mechanism put in place for rehabilitation of flood affectees: Sagar
Srinagar, October 20, (Scoop News)-Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats, 20 Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that the Government has put in place the necessary mechanism for ensuring that the flood affectees are properly rehabilitated. “But it is unfortunate that vested interests are trying to politicize the human tragedies that have befallen the state since last decades for their ulterior political motives”, he added
The Minister was addressing huge gathering after laying the foundation stone of the community hall at Budgam the other day. MLA, Aga Rahullah, Director Rural Development Kashmir, Mir Altaf Ahmed, Senior officers of District Administration and eminent political activists of the area.
Mr Sagar said that the initiated the necessary steps to ensure that the adequate rehabilitation of the people who have got affected as a result of the recent deluge have already been taken. He said “We have taken every possible step for providing relief to the flood affectes and have also submitted a comprehensive relief proposal to the Centre for their rehabilitation in this regard. Chief Minister is personally monitoring the relief measures being taken on day to day basis, so that it reaches to every person who has got affected”.
“It is very strange that vested interests are trying to gain mileage from the human tragedies they should desist from these and instead come forward and contribute their bit in ensuring adequate rehabilitation of the people who have been struck by the recent floods”, he said and added “All should collectively synergize thier efforts for ensuring speedy reconstruction of the areas which have been badly damaged as a consequence of the floods which have inundated the maximum parts of the valley”.
The minister while enumerating the various initiatives undertaken by the Government for ensuring the sustained development of the rural and far-flung areas, the Minister said that the developmental schemes initiated have been need based , area specific and instrumental in changing the socio-economic profile of the people living in these areas besides, ensuring the creation of infrastructural assets and job opportunities.
MLA, Aga Ruhullah also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the various initiatives taken by government for the adequate rehabilitation of the recent flood victims and it is the top most priorities of the state to ensure their proper settlement
The Minister today inaugurated Mirwaiz Kashmir Moulana Yousuf Shah Community Hall at Rajouri Kadal constructed by Srinagar Municipal Corporation with an estimated cost of Rs. 2.35 crore which would be having all the requisite and necessary facilities for the people of the area for celebrating their social functions.
Addressing a huge gathering, the Minister said that the government has constructed several community hall across the city so that people living there get the necessary infrastructural assets and facilities for celebrating their social functions. He said that these halls are replete with the modern amenities so that people living in these localities do not face any inconvenience while performing their functions.
20 Sagar said that the government has also initiated several welfare programmes in different sectors like R&B, Housing, PHE, PDD so that need based and sustained development of old city Srinagar is done. He said that the people should come forward and exhibit a participatory role in their effective implementation.
