Peerzada reviews rehabilitation and developmental works of Kokernag constituency
Anantnag, October 20, (Scoop News)-Government is committed to provide every possible help and assistance to the flood hit people of the state. For this purpose District Administration has been directed to provide financial assistance to the flood victims and free ration to the consumers.
This was disclosed at a review meeting chaired by Hajj Auqaf and Public Enterprises Minister Peerzada Mohammad Syed at Kokernag to take stock of the arrangements and to review the developmental works of Kokernag constituency.
While taking sector-wise review the Minister was informed that under R&B sector 13Km were blacktopped, 30km road length made fair-weather under 2nd and 3rd grade, 17 culverts constructed 4750 RFT drains constructed upto ending 15th of Oct 2014. The R&B department has also completed construction of two high school buildings at a cost of Rs.58 Lakh each at Gawaran and Gudi-draman under RMSA and has completed all the approach roads damaged due to recent flood. Tendering has been made for construction of foot bridges in the area besides PHC Mathindu stands completed.
The Minister directed SE R&B and Executive Engineer Vailoo to gear up the men and machinery for up gradation of Vailoo road. He also directed the Executive Engineer PDD to provide 9 new transformers of different capacity to the villages where from 25-KV damaged transformers have already been lifted.
The Minister also directed the power department to improve HT/LT network for which he has already released 33 Lakh out of CDF.
The power department has also provided 62 HT poles in the area which were damaged/ washed away by the flood.
While taking review of the PHE & Irrigation department the Minister was informed that out of 62 water supply schemes in the constituency, 60 stands restored temporally and the remaining 2 schemes will be restored within three days and the irrigation department will start work on damaged Canals within ten days.
During and after flood the Health department has treated 9567 OPD patients, 895 IPD conducted three LSCS, 15 surgeries, 1467 Lab tests, 176 x-Ray, 30 USG, 70 ECG and also organized medical camps in flood hit areas of Hiller and Dandipora were 862 OPD patients were treated and 24185 doses of vaccine provided besides distributing 20,000 chlorine tablets.
The Minister directed the CAPD department to ensure free distribution of ration to all consumers as per Government Order. He also directed the Agriculture and Horticulture department to prepare assessment lists in consultation with revenue department for providing relief to farmers on account of damage to crops.
The meeting was attended by DDC Anantnag, Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, SDM Kokernag, SE’s of R&B and PDD, CEO KDA, CEO Anantnag and other district and sectoral officers.
