Change imminent in J&K, PDP going to create history: Karra
BHADERWAH,October 19, (Scoop News)-Seeking support of the people to establish a new system of justice and good governance in Jammu and Kashmir, Lok Sabha member from Srinagar parliamentary constituency and senior leader of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Tariq Hamid Karra today said that change is imminent in the State as the was proved in the Parliamentary elections. He said that Parliament elections are clear indications that PDP is going to form government on its own in J&K.
Addressing one day convention of party workers at Bhaderwah, Mr Karra said that PDP has emerged a strong, credible and trustworthy voice of the people of J&K and it has been proved in the Parliament elections. “Biggest achievements of PDP is that it has earned credibility of the people of all regions and sub-regions of J&K”, he said and predicted that PDP is going to create history in Jammu region also in the coming Assembly elections. “People of all the regions of J&K have realised that PDP is their trustworthy voice so it is obvious that residents of every nook and corner of J&K would prefer this party in the coming assembly polls”, he said.
Member Parliament (MP) further predicted that National Conference would be completely wiped out from the political scene of J&K in the coming Assembly elections because people want to teach a lesson to this party for its misdeeds. “Except indulged into deceitful tactics to befool the masses, the present regime has done nothing for the betterment of the people during the last six years” he said.
Responding to the demands of the locals of Bhaderwah, Mr Karra that this picturesque region has huge tourism potential but unfortunately it is not properly tapped. “Except paper exercises nothing has been done on the grounds to explore tourism potential of Bhaderwah and adjoining localities”, Mr Karra said and regretted that despite being projected as a high-profile constituency this belt lacks basic amenities like health, education and road connectivity.
Mr Karra pointed towards conditions of Bhaderwah hospital which caters need of thousands of people but neither there is any gynaecologist nor facilities of ultrasound in available in this health institute. He further said that Bhaderwah Campus of Jammu University is also not made fully functional because authorities have failed to introduce all relevant subjects in the Campus.
Speaking on the occasion, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly and MLA Bijbehara Abdul Rehman Veeri regretted that despite having huge wealth of natural resources, residents Bhaderwah have been confronting to get basic amenities.
Mr Veeri, while pointing towards huge potential of generating power in erstwhile Doda district, demanded that locals of Bhaderwah should also be given priority in the new hydro-electric projects to be started in this belt. “Instead of appointing locals on menial petty jobs, the agencies engaged in executing the hydro-electric projects must open training centres here to train the local unemployed youth so as to engage them on technical jobs”, he demanded.
Former Minister Peer Mohammad Hussain, PDP candidate for Bhaderwah assembly segment, Mehboob Iqbal, Arshad Malik, Shoquat Malik, Mushtaq Zarger, Nazir Kitchloo, Hafiz Wani, Ghulam Rasool, Chaman Gupta, Darshan Gupta, Sajjad Malik, Rattan Chand, Dhanatar Singh, Milkhi Ram and others also spoke on the occasion.
