| JKYSAC hails Govt for relief package for PoK refugees | |
Jammu, October 19, (Scoop News)- JK Youth Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKYSAC) today hailed the decision of state government for the relief package for PoK refugees.
In this connection a meeting was held under the leadership of RC Sharma its president and hailed the Minister of State for Revenue, Eijaz Ahmed Khan for his personal and strenuous efforts for drafting, re-drafting and finalizing the relief package for PoK refugees, and remained instrumental in getting it passed from the state cabinet meeting to send the union government.
While addressing the meeting, Mr RC Sharma said that personal and humanitarian efforts of Mr Eijaz Ahmed Khan in the aspect of finalizing the relief package for PoK refugees are laudable and no leader of state has done this job with sincerity as he did. He said that no Revenue Minister had taken pains to get the package drafted and brought to cabinet but the honest and apolitical efforts of Mr Eijaz Ahmed Khan, Minister of State for Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation (Independent Charge) have taken it to logical end in favour of PoK refugees, who were clamouring hard since their displacement in 1947. He said that within sort tenure as Revenue Minister, Mr Eijaz Ahmed Khan has succeeded in addressing the long pending demand of PoK refugees, who were strongly protesting to get the attention of the sate and center governments. He said that PoK refugees would remain indebted to Mr Eijaz Ahmed Khan who honestly and earnestly addressed the PoK refugees’ demand without political ambitious as PoK refugees are no way voter to him.
Launching a scathing attack on selfish and deceit leaders who won twice on the voters of PoK refugees, who remained busy in vote politics to get their political mileage over the humanitarian issue of suffering PoK refugees, Iqbal Singh Iqbal general secretary said that if the then Revenue Minister, Mr Raman Bhalla had taken simple pain to mitigate the PoK refugees problems, the refugees had been benefitted in 2009 at least five years earlier and hundreds of refugee youth had been appointed in government job but his hidden political ambitious had pushed the refugees to suffer more. He lambasted the then Revenue Minister, Raman Bhalla for not taking pain to re-registering of families of PoK refugees as per the analogy of valley migrants whose families had been re-registered twice since 1989 and families of PoK refugees are still same as it was in 1947, which is great injustice to POK refugees. “In this concern several deputations had met Raman Bhalla the then Revenue Minister for re-registering of the PoK families but he deliberately evaded the issue and wreaked loss to the PoK refugees,” he added. He also pooh-poohed the Minister Sham Lal Sharma,who staged the drama of protesting for the PoK refugees in the cabinet meet as he (Sham) had not taken any pain in past, when his brother was sitting in center and remained MP for ten years and he remained cabinet minister for 6 years, and the Congress party was ruling sate and center.
