Refugeee tag is a curse: Khanna

Jammu, October 19, (Scoop News)- Addressing a joint meeting of BJP State Office Bearers, senior leaders, District & Morcha Presidents and MLAs, Member of Parliament & J&K BJP Prabhari Avinash Rai Khanna said it is most unfortunate that even after 65 years of independence, a large population of this border state is living with the tag of ‘refugee” and are officially still treated as not the citizens of the state and BJP is committed to remove this tag for ever. Taking a dig at the state government for forwarding rehabilitation package for PoJK refugees just few days ahead of announcement of elections, Khanna termed this as an election gimmick and not any genuine concern or feeling for these unfortunate people. Leaving out West Pakistani refugees even now on the betrays the state government parochial and biased approach towards the people of the state. He added that, the state government should explain why it was unmoved for years together. He reminded that successive governments in this border state were run by Congress, NC or PDP, but none of them either deemed it necessary to think of these refugees and now when Narendra Modi government had assured of resolution of the problems, the sleeping Omar government has awakened and trying to win over these voters by pretending concern for them. He also asked the party activists to gear up their activities in view of the assembly elections and stress on booth management.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while congratulating the party activists victory in two states, said that it will have impact in Jammu and Kashmir as the Modi wave will sweep here too. He said that in order to achieve the desired mission, the party activists have to make efforts. He said that on account of the social service rendered by party activists during the floods and now in firing affected border areas, there is massive applause for the BJP and we have proved that ours is not only a political party but an organization with a humanitarian heart and has concern for the welfare and well being of the people and the nation. He said that BJP is a party of people and it stands with them in grief, sorrow and joy.
State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul, who sought details from the District presidents and Prabharis of various activities going on in their respective areas of the state, said that polling booth programs need to be taken into hand. He further directed the district presidents to submit lists of Shakti Kendra and BLA-2 to party headquarters so that effective strategy is formulated in view of the forth coming assembly elections. He also briefed the meeting about the forthcoming important events to be organized.
