Placing of Ladakh in Y class City, demanded | | Leh,October 16, (Scoop News)- Endorsing the proposal submitted by the Central Govt. Employees of Ladakh with regard to the placing of Ladakh in the Yclass City, CEC, LAHDC, Rigzin Spalbar in a letter to the Justice Ashok Kumar Mathur, Chairman, Seventh Central Pay Commission, Camp Leh has urged upon considering the proposal with favourable recommendations to the GOI. He has stated that with Ladakh becoming a major tourist destination, the airfare escalates to almost Rs. 27000 during winter months which remains the only medium to travel outside Ladakh and in such cases he calls their demand for Leave Travel Concession (LTC) to be made admissible for all the family members genuine. He has also urged for a special duty allowance (SDA) @ 25% of the basic pay as provided to central Govt. employees serving in the Andaman and Nicobar group of Island and Lakshadweep to employees serving in Ladakh region considering its remoteness and harsh living condition in comparison to other parts of India. CEC has also justified a Border Area-cum-Backward area Allowance for the govt. employees who feel alienated while serving in Ladakh region. ... |
