Mirwaiz expresses grief over Ansari's demise
condoles Afzal Baba's death, meets delegation of Khalsa Aid (UK)
Srinagar, September 30, (Scoop News)_Terming the relief and rehabilitation of Kashmir flood hit victims as a crucial challenge for the authorities, APHC leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has appealed people to show patience and work whole heartedly to provide succor to lakhs of victims with full courage and resolve.

During his tour to different flood hit areas, APHC leader visited Mat Bagh, Nalabal Nowshera and adjoining areas to assess the damage and express solidarity with the suffering residents.

Expressing his regret over the loss of property and houses,he told the residents of these areas that they were not alone in times of this crisis, but entire Kashmiri lot was standing behind them.

Meanwhile several local and international delegations met Mirwaiz to discuss the flood
situation which has ravaged devastation across Kashmir.

A high level delegation of Khalsa Aid UK comprising of members including Gagan Deep Singh, Roui Singh, and Karanjeet Singh Tuesday called on Mirwaiz at his Nageen residence.

The delegates expressed serious concern over the damages in Kashmir due to floods and expressed solidarity with the Kashmiris.

The delegates conveyed Mirwaiz that they were thankful to local population for rescuing the flood victims and ferrying them to safety.

They said that such acts on part people were laudable and matter of pride.

Mirwaiz also thanked people from rural and urban areas including residents of Kishtiwar, Doda, Bhaderwah, Poonch and Rajouri for sending relief goods in times of need.

He said that even though people from these areas were themselves affected by floods, they showed lot of concern for their brethren in valley.

Meanwhile, APHC leader has expressed profound greif and regret over the demise noted religious leader Moulana Iftikhar Hussain Ansari- who also happens to be President Jammu Kashmir Shia Association.

He said that Ansari happened to be a close friend of Moulvi Mohammad Farooq, adding, the day Awami Action Committee was founded by Moulvi Farooq for demanding right to self determination, Ansari was one of its founding members.

Offering his heartfelt condolences, Mirwaiz expressed his solidarity with the bereaved family.

APHC Chairman also visited Umar Colony Lal Bazaar to condole the demise of Mohammad Afzal Baba- a long time party member. Mirwaiz expressed his sympathies with the bereaved family and termed the death of Baba as a big loss.
