| Div Com briefs about Navratra arrangements | | Festival to be a low key affair |
Jammu,September 19, (Scoop News)- Navratra festival this year shall be a low key affair, this was stated by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu during a press conference, here today.
Divisional Commissioner while briefing the media regarding the festival said that keeping in view the calamity which has hit the state and the loss of life and property caused by the floods, this year’s Navratra festival will be without any component of festivities. The event shall be kept simple and the only event which shall mark the festival this year shall be Bhagwat Katha for the well being of all those who have suffered during the recent floods in the state. He also said that as per tradition Kalash Yatra will be taken out followed by commencement of Bhagwat Katha. It will conclude with Havan and Purna Ahuti on 2nd October, 2014.
Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Mandeep K. Bhandari, Director Tourism Jammu, Soujanya Sharma were also present during the press conference.
