Madan demands Relief/Compensation for flood Victims
visits Samba meets affected families

Samba, September 17, (Scoop News)- Madan Lal Sharma Former MP & Ex. Minister today conducted an extensive tour of flood affected areas of Lower belts of Samba District i.e Rangoor Camp, Kamore Camp, Kamore, Barota Camp, Lagwal, Baria, Madak . The affected people apprised Mr. Sharma of their loss and demanded immediate compensation for earning their livelihood. Mr. Sharma was accompanied by S. Manjit Singh, Ex. Minister, Dr. Satpaul Sr.Cong. Leader, Tirath Bhagat, Babul Gupta, Dr. Pankaj, Natha Ram, Capt. Bhadur Singh, Rajesh Choudhary, Gurdas, Gurbachan, Raj Kumar, Darshan Lal, Rumal Chand, Behari Lal, Tarsem Lal, Sarp. Zorawar Singh . Mr. Sharma after interacting with communities demanded concentration of State Government as well as Central Government to provide immediate support , compensation and relief to the affected people of Jammu, Samba, Rajouri & Poonch . He said that in Samba Agricultural land is flooded and now only sand and stone are visible, the livelihood of the people is badly hit and the condition of other districts is also very grim. Many people are killed and many lost their houses, Mr. Sharma also showed concern over the submerged areas in Kashmir and demanded Government to expedite relief and support there also. He appealed to the State Government to issue orders to concern departments to remove sand silts from the fields and houses, so that people can resume their functioning. He called on the flood control department to look for modern technology and create bandhs which can face the current of rivers in odd times. Mr. Sharma asked the Divisional Commissioner Jammu to coordinate with NGOs , so that the relief to the needy and most vulnerable can b given. He asked that Govt. assessments should be available for the ready reference of donors and there should be coordination between donors and Administration , so that relief reach at appropriate place.
