Jagjivan seeks assessment of damages caused to crops, property
property due to rains in Reasi

Reasi,August 20, (Scoop News)- National Conference candidate from Reasi Assembly Constituency Mr Jagjivan Lal on Wednesday sought immediate survey of the damages caused to crops and the houses due incessant rains and storm so that the affected people are compensated adequately.

Addressing party workers meetings, Mr Jagjivan Lal said that massive damages have caused to the crops and the property which need to be assessed by the revenue department for necessary relief and respite to the sufferers. He particulary sought compensation for the crops damaged in the constituency.

Mr Jajivan Lal, after visiting various affected areas and meeting the sufferers, made a fervent appeal to the Chief Minister for issuing immediate necessary instructions to all concerned for mitigating the difficulties of the people. He said National Conference has all along identified itself with the people and shared their agonies. “Keeping in view the suffering of the people, we want the administration to expedite the process of relief and compensation”, he maintained.

The former minister referred to the problems of his constituency and said that due to lackadaisical approach of those representing the constituency; real problems have not been projected for focussed attention of the agencies concerned. “Despite that the National Conference led government has taken several initiatives to undertake massive development and implement various welfare programmes for the targeted segments of the society”, he said.
Mr Jagjivan Lal sought broadening of the ambit of Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojna so that road connectivity gets impetus. Adequate road network, he said, is imperative for economic growth and and faster development of any area. “Therefore, there is need for devising schemes which will not only help in raising the infrastructure but also generate employement for the rural poor”, he said.
Mr Jagjivan Lal exhorted the people to strengthen the hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Mr Omar Abdullah for sustaining peace and accelerating development initiated during the past nearly six years.
