NC to form government on its own in JK: Gupta

Jammu, July 26, (Scoop News)- Saying that magic of Narendra Modi is fast fading due to anti-people policies, National Conference State Vice President Rattan Lal Gupta on Saturday observed that populism and false sloganeering don’t work for long in a democratic polity.
“People want results on the ground and not euphoria being generated on emotive slogans”, Mr Gupta said while referring to the debacle BJP faced in three assembly constituencies of Uttrakhand in the bye-elections.
He described the post parliamentary elections mood as an indicator of BJP balloon getting burst due to sky rocketing prices, inflation and other measures that have disillusioned the common people. “Similar is the situation in the State, especially in the Jammu region where popular mood is in favour of National Conference due to its pragmatic strategey that enabled peace and faster development during the past over five and half years”, he maintained.
Mr Gupta said that at the strength of the record card of Omar led government, National Conference is going to register massive victory in the upcoming elections and form a stable and strong government on its own in the State.

The State Vice President said mandate to National Conference is imperative for taking bold decisions with regard to development and implementation of various welfare programmes. He said Omar led government has laid a strong edifice of development which is
needed to be taken forward for deriving optimum results at the grass
roots level.

Spelling out in detail progress registered in different sectors of development, Mr Gupta said such a massive effort has never ever been undertaken in all the three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
Referring to the revolutionary measures like Public Servicers
Guarantee and Right to Information Acts, Mr Gupta said these are
essentially aimed at making the government accountable, administration
responsive and people empowered to ask questions. He said the Chief
Minister believes in transparency, as a result of which these historic
measures have been initiated. Such as the creation 659 new administrative units in order to give more and more facilities to the door steps of the people .

Mr Gupta also castigated PDP for negative politics and raising hype on certain issues and said that this party was in fact Xerox copy of the BJP chartered with the mission of furthering saffron agenda in the Valley. He said the two parties have caused the State immense damage during recent years by polarising the situation and sowing seeds of dissent and division among the people. He referred to 2008 agitation and said that the row was the machinations of these two parties to cause dent to the pluralistic ethos of the State for electoral gains. He said National Conference, however, did not allow to succeed their game plan and foiled it with active support of the peace loving people of Jammu and Kashmir. He cautioned the people against sinister designs of these parties and hoped they will maintain unity and brotherhood at all costs
Mr Gupta appealed the rank and file of National Conference to gear up for ensuing assembly elections in order to achieve the goal of absolute majority for stable government of its own and advance the state for a new era of peace , prosperity , equitable development of the three regions of the state and brotherhood.
