Army gives wings to the dreams of engineering aspirants

The White Knight Corps of the Army has moved in by taking the noble venture of providing scholarship to capable children under it wings and the proposal accordingly had the cabinet approval and an amount of Rs. 1200 crores was earmarked for the same.




Delta Force of the Army White Knight Corps which has remained on the forefront to engage youth through various Initiatives like giving wide publicity to various skill development schemes of Central government like Project Himayat and Project Udaan, took the initiative to educate the youth about the benefits of this scheme. The Force also recently coordinated with corporates under their Corporate Social Resp (CSR) mandate for establishing of Chenab Super 30 vide which 30 bright yet economically poor students will be provided with 11 months free residential coaching at Jammu for preparing them to crack the tough Entrance Exam of IIT-JEE and other reputed Engineering Institutes. This is a unique and very potent venture which will empower the youth of the society in times to come. On 19 July 2014, at a simple ceremony, the selected 30 students interacted with Lt Gen KH Singh, General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps, who exhorted all students to make the best of this opportunity by dedicating themselves in preparing for cracking the tough IIT Entrance Exam. He thanked Centre for Social Responsibility & Leadership (CSRL) for taking the noble initiative of empowering the youth of the region. Mr Abhyananad, DGP of Bihar and mentor of Super 30 programme and Mr SK Shahi, Director, CSRL were present during the ceremony.





In the year 2013, Army gave wide publicity to the Pacific University, Udhampur proposal so that a generation of youth with positive outlook can be built up. The aim was to expose these students to the quality education available in the outside world so that not only do they improve their employability but also motivate their kith and kin, back in their hometowns , to empower themselves through knowledge. 101 students, incl six girls, were seen off by their parents and Army from Kishtwar by bus on 25 Aug 13. Army assisted them in completing their documentation formalities. Army also coordinated the reception of these students on their arrival at Pacific Univ, Udaipur, and coordinated with Noida International University to provide mid academic session admission to around 20 students of Ramban District in Nov 2013. Mir Faisal a budding student of University said “It could not have been better. My father who himself has not seen this part of the country is very proud of my achievement. I will try for JKPSC and become an officer. Indian Army has made my dream come true”.





“Where there is will, There is a way” an old adage has been visualized by the Indian Army to bring the light of education and prosperity in the houses of the common mass. Abu Baqr father of Shauzhada a young IIT aspirant says, “If tomorrow my daughter becomes an Engineer, I can proudly say what Indian Army has done for me, my family and the entire jamaat”.
