| Phunchok for earliest solution of border issues of Changthang at GoI level | |
Leh,July 24, (Scoop News)- The Councilor Chushul Namgail Phunchok in a letter addressed to Member Parliament, Ladakh Constituency Thupstan Chhewang, impressed on him to take the border issues of Changthang at GoI level for its earliest solution. The letter requested MP Ladakh to communicate the sufferings of Changthang people with Indian Govt underlining that people of Changthang living in this border region are suffering and leading a tough life with minimal existing facilities of basic necessities and the Army/ITBP posted at Border area further exaggerate their problems by not allowing to construct semi open mud /stone goat pen at Kakjung (Lago Nunpo) by the nomads which are their ancestral pasture land. To construct the goat pen all the material had already dumped at the site which cost them about Rs. 2.00 lacs.
The letter strongly condemn the attitude of Army/ITBP for not allowing people of Chushul and its adjoining areas to construct needful buildings at their land and demanded land measuring 5000 kanals at Leh as a part of compensation for migration purpose if they are not permitted to construct goat pen.
The letter further adds that in view of non availability of telecommunication facilities at Chushul Eastern Ladakh, the people of the are facing immense difficulties due to lack of communication facilities and said that after a lapse of many years the installation of mobile tower has not been taken in hand and requested to make early functional of mobile tower.
