Three day Dera Baba mela concludes | | REASI/Jammu, April 14, (Scoop News)-Over 50,000 devotees of Dera Baba Bandha Bahadur paid obeisance at the historic Gurudwara situated at Dera Baba on the bank of river Chenab in Reasi during three day Baisakhi Mela and Dharmik Sammelan, which concluded here today. The devotees hailing from various parts of Jammu province and other states like Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and other parts of the country participated with great enthusiasm and gaiety in the three day mela to pay obeisance and seek blessing of Dera Baba Bandha Bahadur shrine. The 300-year-old Dera Baba Bandha Bahadur is a historic Gurudwara, having samadhi of Bandha Bahadur. The ashes of Bandha Bahadur an arrow given to him by Guru Gobind Singh and other weapons, including a huge sword and other belongings of the Baba were displayed in the mela for devotees. The Gurdwara Management Committee of Dera Baba had made arrangements for the stay of devotees besides serving free community langer. Main attraction of the mela was traditional food stalls, local folk, free style wrestling competition and photo exhibition on electoral awareness under SVEEP. Statue of great warrior Banda Bahadur was also unveiled by the Dera Baba Gurdwara Management Committee during an impressive valedictory function of the festival. ... |
