Div Com asks polling staff to strictly adhere to ECI guidelines

UDHAMPUR, April 14, (Scoop News)-For the smooth conduct of Lok Sabha Election 2014, the election preparedness meeting was reviewed by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu at DC office complex here today. He was accompanied by IGP Jammu, Rajesh Kumar and IG CRPF Kuldeep Dhar.
The threadbare discussions were held on Security Plan, deployment of zonal/ sectoral officers and polling parties, transport plan, number of Model Polling Stations, strong rooms security , preparation of EVMs, BMF status at polling station, arrangements of vehicle for Zonal Magistrates and sectoral Magistrates, dispatch centre & receiving centre arrangements, food and civic amenities, health care, transportation, media allowance, payments & exemption.
Div Com directed all Zonal/sectoral and police officers that no loopholes should be left , no MCC violations will happen on the polling day and follow all MCC guidelines of ECI. He said that while issuing EVMs to the polling parties, reserve EVMs should be given to them so that the polling process would not hinder. He stressed upon the Zonal/Sectoral officers to get mobile phones fully charged on the polling day so that no reporting problem would be faced. He further directed all Zonal and Sectoral Magistrates to be vigilant and report immediately to higher officers if any complaint of non functioning of EVMs would be received during first two to three hours of the start of polling , as these are very crucial.
District Election Officer also briefed the Divisional Commissioner about all the arrangements which have been made in Udhampur district for the smooth conduct of free and fair Lok Sabha elections 2014. She informed about the reserved EVMs with micro- observers, strict vigil at Jakhani and Patnitop Nakas by the police to stop any suspicious movement etc.
Inspector General Police Jammu, Rajesh Kumar also gave directions to all the police officers to be vigilant at all the nakas.
DIG Udhampur- Reasi range, Ghareeb Das, ADC Vikas Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police, Udhampur, Suleman Choudhary, IAS Probationer, Ravinder Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, N.S. Jamwal, All ARO’s, Zonal and Sectoral officers, police officers and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
