| Army officer slipped into river Chenab | | Jammu, January 17, (Scoop News)-An Army officer slipped into the river Chenab on night 16/17 January at area Gobind Ghat near Gurudwara at Akhnoor,defence spokesman said.
He said Major DS Bhinder resident of Meerut (UP) had gone to the river bank, when he accidentally slipped and fell into the river. The officer was swept away by the strong river current. Army has launched extensive search operations to rescue the officer. However, the search operations were severely affected due to adverse climatic conditions and strong current of the river. Rescue operations to search the officer are in progress. The GOC White Knight Corps has expressed his condolences to the family.
