Tribal Music and Dance Festival came to an end at Garkone

Kargil, October 06(Scoop News)-Organizing a Tribal Music and Dance Festival at Garkone, Batalik Sector, All India Radio Kargil added one more feather to its cap for this historic event in the hamlet of Aryan Race, the Last Village of Kargil.
It was for the first time in the history of the village, that any of the cultural or media organizations organized such an event to entertain this downtrodden and disconnected lot of population of the State of J&K.
Obliviously in the morning of 5th of October when All India Radio Kargil team headed by Nissar Naseem with artist from other parts of Kargil reached Garkone, people came out of their houses with flowers, Dry Fruits and smiling faces to welcome the Public Service Broadcaster and their artists in their village for the first time.
As defined by the inhabitants of Aryan hamlet, the two hours Musical Concert was a mind freshener, in which artists from Garkone, Darchiks and Wakha mesmerized the villagers for preparing for a tough and harsh winter.
Councilor LAHDC Kargil for this area Shri Miskeen Tsering was the Chief Guest and Head of Office All India Radio Kargil Nisar Naseem welcome the Guests, Audiences and the Artists.
In his welcome address Nissar Naseem admitted that despite the fact that, Garkone village is historically and religiously one of the significant area in Ladakh Region, yet a downtrodden disconnected and mostly uncared for, but for its cultural and historical ethos, All India Radio owes its services to this hamlet of Aryans. He said, we are here for the first time but will continue our services for this sector of our coverage area.
He said that this concert is our third and final for this year, earlier such programmes were also organized in Zanskar and Drass Valley, in the wake of preservation and promotion of Culture and the Artist community.
Speaking on the occasion Councilor Miskeen Tsering appreciated and thanked AIR Kargil for this treat and hoped that such efforts will continue in future too. Councilor desired All India Radio to highlight the miseries, difficulties and grievances of Garkone, Darchiks and Batalik region of Kargil.
He defined this effort of AIR Kargil as life saving drug for dying cultural traditions.
Assistant Director Engineering AIR Kargil, Ramesh Kumar thanked the guests, audiences and Artists with the message that AIR Kargil will leave no stone unturned in the process of Preservation and Promotion of historical and ethnic trades of this part of land. He praised the attitude of hospitality of the locals.
The whole concert was anchored by Talha Jahnager in his own style and manner which was appreciated the audience.
