| PDP holds Dharna against Minister for politicizing the sports activities | |
Srinagar, May 25 (Scoop News) – Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) held a dharna against ministerfor Medical education & Sports Mr Taj Mohiudin at Banidpora. The protestors were agitating against the minister for misuing and politicizing the sports acitivities. The dharna was led by MLA Bandipora Nizamudin Bhat and was attended by hundreds of workers which remained and was going on till last reports . The concerned minister remained confined to the stadium while protestors refused to end the protest.
On this occasion Bhat said the Minister had violated political norms and had ignored the elected representatives in the implementation of sports activities.
He said PDP will continue to fight this arrogance of the Minister and will not allow sports to become hand maiden of a political party or its local agents. He said the funds earmarked for promotion of sports are public funds and should reach the youth by way of their right and not as a political favour or charity as Taj Mohiudin wants it to look like.
