Recruitment process in JK being fast tracked this year: Rather

Budgam/Srinagar, May 25 (Scoop News) –Observing that unemployment is the biggest challenge confronting the Government, the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather today said that employment generation and recruitment process is being further fast tracked during the current year and its impact will be visible on ground shortly. He said employment potential in public; self-employment as well as private sectors is being exploited optimally to create ample job avenues for the unemployed youth of the State.

Addressing a series of public meeting at Barwa, Kheeri-Gund and Brinjan in Tehsil Chadoora, Rather said that bringing smile on the gloomy faces of unemployed youth is the prime concern of the present Government. He said that the number of unemployed youth has reached to about 6 lakh as per the figures available with different Employment and Counselling centres of the State adding that entire Government machinery is working overtime to seek solution to the unemployment problem. He asked the youth to strengthen the hands of Coalition Government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, asserting that future of the youth of the State was safe in the hands of present dispensation. He said opposition wants to mislead the people on frivolous issues as it has no agenda and is desperate to satiate its petty interest by exploiting the sentiments of innocent people.

“We should be aware of their (opposition) machinations,” Rather cautioned and said that the opposition is relying on lies and double standards.

Finance Minister said that equitable justice and uninforms development of all the areas of the State, without any discrimination, is the Mission of present Government adding that neglected and bad pockets are under special focus of the Government. “Promises made to the people will be fulfilled with an act of faith and no stone will be left unturned to come up to their expectation”, Rather assured and said that ameliorating the lot of people and removing their hardships was our main agenda.

Responding to the demands of the people of Brinjan, Rather announced to construct Nowpora-Buzgoo via Brinjan road which is also known as Maharaja Road adding that this will be shortest road link to connect the area with world famous tourist destinations of Neelnag and Yusmarg and will prove a harbinger for a big socio-economic revolution in the area. He also announced macadamization of the Hafroo-Brinjan road, spacious building for Government High School, Brinjan, construction of Public Park, and opening of animal and sheep husbandry units in the village. He directed the concerned officers to prepare estimates for these works within a fortnight so that funds are released for their execution.

At Kheeri-Gund, the Minister while responding favourably to the charter of demands presented by the people, announced to construct Kheerigund-Hanjoora Bridge, Gundpora-Astanpora Bridge, playfield for youth, veterinary units at Gundpora and reconstruction of shrine complex in the village.

He also gave details about various developmental works completed in the Chrar-i-Sharief constituency during last four and half years of the present Government, adding that construction of massive road network and bridges have altogether changed the socio-economic scenario of the area, viewing that the business and trade activities have received a big boost in nook and corner of the constituency due to these works. “The development initiatives will continue to be under the focus of the Government”, Rather added.

The People of these villages gave a rousing reception to the Minister by traditional drum beating, folk dances and wanwun.

The team of senior officers and engineers of the district administration accompanied the Minister during the hectic day long tour.
