Gandhi Global Family meets Gandhiji granddaughter Tara Gandhi

New Delhi/Jammu,May 7 (Scoop News) – A team of Gandhi Global Family meets Gandhi ji’s granddaughter Tara Gandhi at Gandhi Smriti in New Delhi. During the interaction she emphasized that Gandhiji is not only a national leader but also an international leader who influenced many including Noble laureates for Peace- Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Dalai Lama, Aung San Suu Kyi, and Barack Obama.
Gandhi remains relevant not only now but in future and as long as civilization exists. She appreciated the role of Gandhi Global Family in strengthening people to people contact among various communities by following the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhiji.
She said, “ The path chosen by Gandhi Global Family is very demanding but its impact & appeal is universal which transcends the barriers of time & space.” During the interaction Padmashri Varma also apprised Didi about the forthcoming Gandhian event “Young Gandhian Summit on employment” at Srinagar on 26-27th May 2013 where more & more opportunities will explore for income generation programs for the youth. Smt Gandhi showed her sincere concern for the alarming increase of unemployment in the contemporary time.

Mr Varma also apprised her regarding the implementation of various programs undertaken by Gandhi Global Family at national & international level under the able guidance of its President Gulam Nabi Azad Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare who was influenced by the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi in his early age & joined Gandhian Movement in 1969 when he was a college student.


Meanwhile A delegation of Gandhi Global Family with its Vice President Padma S P Verma met with the Speaker Meera Kumar at her office chambers. The delegate comprised of members of Gandhi Global Family from throughout the country.
Youngest members among the delegation, Najum ul Huda from Kargil and Syed Abass Moosavi, President All Kargil Student Union Delhi offered her Traditional Khataks on behalf of the people of Kargil Ladakh.
The Speaker wished a bright future for both of them. She was happy to interact with both the young Gandhians as they discussed many things regarding Kargil in particular and Ladakh in general.
