DGP launches Crime Website stresses to provide timely justice

Jammu, March 28 (Scoop News) – The Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda has stressed upon the investigators to put in best efforts to improve investigations skills and provide timely justice to the people. He said that the use of latest Information Technology (IT), in the crime detection will help in quick disposal of cases and will build the image and faith of Jammu and Kashmir Police Organization among the masses.
The DGP was speaking at the launching of the Crime Website www.crimebranchjkpolice.nic.in at a function held at Crime Headquarters here today. He said that tremendous changes have taken place in the field of technology and investigators have to make use of these latest techniques to improve their professional skills and knowledge. The Website will help the investigation agency to keep the public apprised about their activities for detection of crime and the people in return would provide a feed back which will be very helpful for the agency in the long run. He said that latest techniques have strengthened the methods of investigation and people get early justice despite the attempts of culprits to remove the proof of their crime.
Khoda added that the police has to ensure speedy response to the grievances of the public and due care must be taken so that the innocent people are not put to any inconvenience during the investigation. He said that in every civilized society prevention and detection of crime is of paramount importance and police and public have to work together to make the society crime free.
Stressing upon the investigators for up gradation of skills on scientific lines for effective working out of criminal cases, he said that Crime Branch plays a pivotal role in crime detection in the State.
The DGP appreciated the assistance provided by the Directorate of National Informatics Centre (NIC) in launching the website. He asked the officers of Crime Headquarter to keep website updated about the status of investigation to apprise the people about the progress of investigation in the cases of their interest
Earlier, the Inspector General of Police (Crime) J&K, Raja Aijaz Ali threw a detailed light on the activities of Crime Branch J&K. He also briefed the officers about the aims and objectives of launching the Crime Website. He said by launching the website the Crime Branch will be able to investigate the cases with public support more effectively. He said that queries raised by the public about the investigation of case would be replied through this website.
The function was also attended by Additional Director General of Police, Armed/Law & Order, K. Rajendra Kumar, Inspectors General of Police, Dilbag Singh and Mohammad Amin Shah, and Dr. B, Srinivas, Deputy Inspectors General of Police, Farooq Khan, P. R. Manhas, Yoginder Koul, Alok Puri, Mubarak Ahmed Ganai and Garib Dass and other police officers.
