IIT Guwahati organizes annual Alcheringa Festival 0n Corona warriors on February 2nd

Geneva,January 30 (Scoop News)- Press Emblem Campaign (PEC), the global media safety and rights body, wishes success to Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati’s annual Alcheringa Festival which kicks off on February 2 in a bid to celebrate the nation’s victory on one of the most important pandemics in recent history and also encourage participants to recharge and rejoice in success. PEC insists on saluting the sacrifice made by doctors, health and sanitation workers as well as media workers during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 27th edition of Alcheringa, the four-day show at the premises of IIT Guwahati, will be held under the theme “Pledge to Persist”. Recognized as the largest cultural festival in northeast India, Alcheringa (also known as Alcher) will host over 80 events with thousands of participants. PEC President Blaise Lempen sends his greetings to the participants and expresses the hope that the victory celebration will pave the way to mark the contribution of corona warriors in every corner of the planet.

Initiated by a group of IITG students, the festival will feature various competitions including Electric Heels (group dance competition), Voice of Alcheringa (solo singing competition), Halla Bol (street playing competition), Rock -o-Phonix (rock band competition), Mr and Mrs Alcheringa (personality competition), Haute Couture (team fashion design event), etc. but also back-to-back live concerts, incredible professional shows, a much-anticipated creators’ camp and unprecedented informal activities.

In earlier occasions, Alcheringa hosted popular artistes like Sajid Wajid, Mika Singh, Lucky Ali, Mohit Chauhan, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, KK, Shaan, Sonu Nigam, Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar Rajvani, Ash King, Sachin Jigar, Amaal Mallik, Gaurav Taneja, Karan Sehgal, Arunabh Kumar, Babar Ali, Deepak Pareek and many more, informed the media communication head Muhammad Bin Quasim. He expects that participants from more than 500 colleges and hundred thousand visitors would make the event a memorable experience for everyone.
