Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur organised District Youth Parliament Festival
7 districts participated

Jammu, January 29 (Scoop News)-Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. Of India organised District Youth Parliament Festival, 2023 in which more than 100 young participants from 7 districts partipated virtually. The participating districts were Udhampur, Reasi, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Leh & Kargil. At the outset, District Youth Officer Khushal Gupta welcomed the senior officials of NYKS, NSS Programme Officers, Jury Members and all the participants of the event. He briefed about the objectives of organising the youth parliament and added that Hon'ble PM Sh. Narendra Modi reiterated his desire to organise the District Youth Parliaments in his address at the time of inauguration of the 22nd National Youth Festival on 12th January, 2018. After the welcome address, the participants were given the opportunity to speak district wise. The jury panel comprised of Adv. Swatantra Dev Kotwal, Sh. Amar Dev Singh, Sh. Rakesh Sharma, Sh. Gagandeep Sharma and Sh. Uttam Sharma.



The young participants deliberated on various issues for more than 6 hours. The topics included Health, Wellbeing & Sports- Agenda for Youth, Skill Development- One of the keys to empower youth and Social Media- Youth Perspective. It is pertinent to mention that the two winners from each district will compete in the State Youth Parliament Festival which will be follwed by the National Level Event. The result was announced on the same day in which the candidates who stood first were Suhani Gupta from Udhampur, Atya Tabassum from Doda, Yashika Abrol from Reasi, Ameesha Rajput from Ramban, Asif Hussain from Kishtwar, Skarma Otsal from Leh & Kaneez Fatima from Kargil.
